Payment
I accept cash or a cashiers check (made out to Four19 Aviation, LLC) . I do not accept credit cards, checks, or paypal/venmo.
Locations
I am a part-time FAA Pilot Examiner. Due to my family and full-time vocational commitments I conduct exams primarily at APA and BJC. APA is my preferred location, I have an office and free ramp space is available for those commuting to APA for exams. Out of area exams will require a travel fee and will be evaluated on a case by case basis.
Non-Refundable Scheduling Deposit
Each checkride booked online will pay a $100 non-refundable deposit. This deposit will be applied to the cost of the flight exam. Fee is forfeited for exams canceled less than 48 hours in advance. For exams canceled outside of 48 hours the deposit fee may be applied to a rescheduled checkride.
Unprepared/Unqualified fee
A $200 fee may be retained due to the following:
-The airman’s logbook entries do not demonstrate that he/she has met the aeronautical experience requirements for the desired certificate or rating
-Applicant arrives without required documents including the aircraft maintenance records, proper endorsements, or identification
-Applicant presents unairworthy aircraft (issue detected prior to start of practical test – i.e. aircraft out of annual or 100 hour inspection or other “easily avoidable” airworthiness issue).
Retests
Retests completed within 60 days will be charged 50% of the exam fee (unless otherwise agreed upon). Retests outside of 60 days are considered new exams and will be charged a full fee.
Discontinuances
I have found many discontinuance are avoidable. In the case of an unavoidable test continuance that is finished within 60 days I do not charge a fee. For avoidable discontinuance a 50% exam fee is charged.
Valid Reasons
—Unforecast Weather.
—Maintenance issue that develops during the exam
—Unexpected illness
—Any other reasonable circumstance (at examiners discretion)
Invalid Reasons
—Weather is unsuitable and forecasted as such.
—Unairworthy aircraft (avoidable issue detected after beginning of practical test)
—Discontinuance for non-urgent personal reason.
